Aegon III Targaryen (The Dragonbane)

Third of his name. Eleven years old when the Dance ended and he was lifted onto the Iron Throne above the corpse of his uncle and rival; reigning a quarter-century after, mostly through regents and Hands. He had watched his mother eaten by a dragon and never sat a dragon in his life, and during his reign the last of the Targaryen dragons sickened and died at the Dragonpit. Even his second marriage, to the laughing Daenaera Velaryon, could not warm him; the realm called him the Broken King.
